The current owners of Myers Steakhouse & Inn are only the 4th to carry on the tradition of good food in a cozy and comfortable atmosphere that has been a part of the Salamanca area for 105 years. Wendellyn O’Neil, aka Wendy, and her son Trevor O’Neil purchased the business from Wendellyn’s Aunt Rosie on Friday January 20th, 2006. If you are not familiar with Friday Night Fish Fries, which are very popular in Western New York, then you may not appreciate the excitement that took place that evening. Wild and crazy does not begin to describe it. Wendy has come from a Real Estate background, in which she has participated in the Salamanca & Ellicottville areas for 18+ years. She was born and raised in Salamanca, as were her children, Trevor and his brother Ian, who can be found mixing some wonderful libations in Myers Whitetail Tavern. Trevor enjoys a career with a very large national media firm, but truly loves hosting and serving at Myers. Mother and son share in many of the responsibilities of running this thriving business together with the greatly appreciated help of their fantastic employees. Wendy’s husband Mark Slocum, born and raised in Arcade, N.Y., who came from an insurance background, has creatively assembled a tempting menu with the assistance of Wendy and Trevor, as well as many flavorful featured items throughout the week. Mark loves cooking and being in the kitchen. He comes from a family background of good food. At one time, his family owned the very popular Butternut Inn in Chaffee, N.Y. With that experience, Mark comes by his chef talents naturally. Wendy and her family definitely have more than one thing in common, and that is a love of great food and service. If you are looking for a fabulous steak or fresh seafood in a comfortable lodge style setting, then this is the place for you. |
